15 questions to ask yourself to help you write articles that don't suck

Growing a personal brand has little to do with writing well.

It has far more to do with what you choose to write about.

It needs to connect. It needs to reso

nate. It needs to stop people mid-scroll.

I started writing online years ago. Today, at over 200,000 readers, there's a lot I've learned about asking the right questions to prompt content people want to read (that I also WANT to write):

Personal experience mining

1. What mistake did I make this week that others probably make too?

Your recent failures are often where the gold is.

They're fresh, specific, and relatable. Plus, admitting mistakes builds trust faster than any success story.

2. What advice do I give repeatedly that people never follow?

This reveals both a common problem and your unique perspective on solving it. The frustration you feel is precisely what your audience needs to hear.

3. What did I believe 5 years ago that I now think is completely wrong?

Evolution of thought is fascinating to readers.

It shows you're not dogmatic and helps people who are currently where you used to be.
