I like this one:

"if the reader would benefit more from knowing that you don’t know, tell them you don’t"

Well said. Really tough skill to master, not often implemented, brilliant if done well.

Thank you for sharing.

On writing even if you don't know everything, I think it's so important to realize that. Because the point of writing isn't to just share ideas, it's also to find them. By offering yourself to the page, you're allowing yourself to create connections on what you know and discover insights you haven't seen before.

I highlighted so much from this essay, Alex. I'm glad I found you and your writing.

Sometimes I do fear to write about certain topics in order not to say something false. But as I have been thinking more and reading this post, I feel more encouraged.

You're right when you say that we don't know everything, so we shouldn't pretend like we do.

Thank you for this uplifting post!

I feel the same way about people who brag that they've been driving for x years. Great, that doesn't mean you're a good driver, it just means you've been operating a vehicle for that long. If we don't actively strive to do better in one way or another, we will remain stagnant, we'll make the same mistakes over and over, and as you say, if we're not true to ourselves we will remain uninteresting.
