Endless run-arounds, people changing what you've written, or sometimes no answer at all. That's the kind of ROI that I could do without.
I encourage people to write online before publishing books - build an audience and a newsletter first. That's what this Substack aims to help with. Then you become the publisher rather than relying on legacy publishers to screw it up for you :)
